We supply a comprehensive range of Cut Throat Flume. Cut-Throat Flumes (CTF) are preferably recommended for field conditions for theirs simple design compared to other flumes. CTF is made up of two sections one converging & the other diverging. The throat section is avoided as suggested by the name ‘Cut-throat’ which indicates this special feature with a flat bottom surface and vertical walls. Discharge range measurable is from 0.33 cusecs (10 lit/sec) to 80 cusecs (2400 litter/sec.). Most suitable for field conditions because of the flat bottom, which avoids the silt obstruction problem and makes installation easy. Head loss is more and accuracy in results is 92%.

FRP Standing Wave Flumes used for discharge measurement in channels and laboratories are experimentally investigated. Height and width of SWF are the two parameters characterizing the head-discharge relationship. Laboratory experiments are conducted by measuring the discharge and the head over the weir for variable weir heights and widths. Applicability of various formulations for the discharge coefficient are investigated.

FRP V-Notches are useful for seepage measurement of irrigation dam and toe drains. Discharge in V-Notches can measure from 6 liter/second to 120 liter/second. In V-notch, advantage is of head over the crest is large and thus flow remains unaffected by surface tension and viscosity. Limitation of V-Notch is small discharge range and V-plate itself become obstruction to silt and hence not suitable for field channels in irrigation and for waste water management. Ni-Plast make V-Notches are manufacturing confirm to Indian Standard IS 9108:1979 and having molded and engraved gauge marking for measuring discharge in lit/second and level in centimeter. Provision can made on demand to remove V-Plate as and when require cleaning silt gathered in V-Notch.

• Seepage measurement of dam in foundation, inspection and top galleries and
• Toe-drains. Limited use in waste water and laboratories

We offer a wide range of premium quality V-Notch or Sharp Crested Weirs. V-Notches or Sharp Crested Weirs are generally used for measuring small discharges like seepage from drains and gallery of masonry dam or toe drains. V-Notches can measure discharge from 1 lit/sec to 120 lit/sec maximum. For low discharges, V-Notches are superior to Flumes because head over the crest is large and thus flow remains unaffected by surface tension and viscosity. V-Notches have their own limitation and not suitable for discharge measurements in field channels due to obstruction of silt.

The Indian Standards Institute (ISI) has drawn specifications for manufacture of V-Notches. Ni-Plast make V-Notches confirm to Indian Standards IS: 9108-1979.

Mechanical and Electronic recorders are available with Ni-Plast V-Notches these enable automatic data recording of discharge measurements. Periodic discharge measurements at preset time intervals are logged in a data logger that is housed in the electronic recorder unit. The data logger can be connected to a desktop PC to download the data for further processing and generate reports like water seepage, water discharge during a given period of time, water accountability etc.

Product Details:

Orifice Meter is using at laboratory and research level for discharge measurement. Orifice meter are practically abounded due to considerable fall, excessive loss of head and silt deposition in upstream side. Ni-Plast make orifice meters are made of FRP and having 50 mm to 120mm orifice. Discharge range is from 15 liter/second to 100 liter/ second. Gauge marking in centimeter and liter/ second is given on orifice plate. Discharge table is given with calibration formula for free flow condition.
